When the first stay-at-home orders started to come in, many people turned to the internet to look for their source of entertainment. Some began to watch different types of gaming videos, especially with another rising in the popularity of Minecraft as well as a much newer game. Among Us, taking the gaming community by storm.

Some of the more popular new gaming people include Corpse Husband who gained popularity for his unique voice and clever methods of Among Us strategies. Corpse suffers from a chronic illness that involved complications with fibromyalgia, which is part of the reason why his voice is so deep. Along with gaming, he also has multiple songs on different platforms, and has over three million monthly listeners on Spotify. Corpse has also yet to reveal his real name or his face, which adds to his hype. The majority of people have agreed to not pressure him into a face reveal and have shown that his personality alone is enough to be a fan of him.

Another person who gained popularity very quickly was a Minecraft streamer and youtuber who goes by the in-game name of Dream. He quickly gained subscribers after posting videos with his friends GeorgeNotFound, Sapnap, and BadBoyHalo where they try to stop him before beating Minecraft. Dream is known for being very skilled at the game and being able to escape almost every trap he is put into. Dream was one of the quickest growing channels of 2020, reaching over 14 million subscribers on his main youtube channel in just one year. Similar to Corpse Husband, Dream is also a faceless youtuber. He has teased at a face reveal before and has even got as far as to wear a full face mask similar to his in-game icon before, but we have yet to see what his real face looks like. With over 20 million subscribers spread throughout his many channels, it once again shows that a face doesn’t have to be on display to see that he is a skilled player and a good person.

Along with new faces appearing, many of the YouTubers and streamers who have been around for years have also began to be on the front page once again. People like PewDiePie, Jacksepticeye, Pokimane, and Sykkuno have also begun to adopt the newer games and play with the up and coming new generation of gamers who younger people are beginning to take interest in.

With the combination of youtube legends with the newest heavy hitters in the gaming world, Youtube and streaming platforms like Twitch are being taken over by millions of people all around the world, and does not show any signs of slowing down heading into 2021.
